Carmelita’s dam, the chestnut Sirigaita Interagro, is one of the most important Interagro brood mares, with an Interagro progeny of six to-date. Sirigaita Interagro [Faraó (JHC) x Cigana (MLC)], also comes from two of the most renowned Lusitanos of all time. Faraó (JHC) has his own web page which can be consulted for a complete description of this extraordinary stallion. Cigana (MLC) is the most important of all Interagro brood mares and of the Lusitano breed, having so far produced an unequaled progeny of 15 superior animals, including five official Interagro stallions: Noblissimo, Obtuso, Profano, Rocinante and Xerxes Interagro. This pedigree is so special and so difficult to find that it makes any commentary superfluous. This mare is a rare jewel, one that few will ever find in the market place. Those who are interested in the genealogy of this young mare may consult the bios of Cigana and Faraó in our book on the Lusitano lineages.

Trainer’s opinion
An extremely handsome three-year-old buckskin mare, Carmelita Interagro is already over 16 hands. Easy to start this past summer, Carmelita Interagro possesses a splendid temperament, is intelligent, calm, trainable and very sweet. What makes Carmelita Interagro a real “stand out” in this Collection, beyond her unique color, beautiful markings and big size, is her sheer dressage quality. This mare has a shining future in the competition ring. She continues to amaze us with her level of balance for a big three-year-old that has been under saddle for such a short time. All three of her gaits show what a dressage competitor will want. She demonstrates the ability to lengthen and shorten with ease. She is forward-thinking and gives her rider a great feel of what she will become in a few more years as she strengthens. This mare is the only horse in the 2010 Collection sired by one of the past collection favorites, Nicola (MAC). Nicola has given us many special horses for dressage because of their temperament, size and color. In 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009 Collections, Interagro sold these Nicola offspring: Uluti Interagro, Urucum Interagro, Valete Interagro, Volturno Interagro, Votan Interagro, Vandalo Interagro, Ximango Interagro, Xaleco Interagro, Xolaio Interagro, Zalene Interagro, Zamorana Interagro, Zampano Interagro, and Alter Interagro. Nicola’s son, Tufão Interagro, is the father of Alvarinho Interagro who is also a favorite in this Collection. Tufão Interagro has become a very important stallion for Interagro’s breeding program. He is already passing on his quality of dressage gaits, color and good temperament. Carmelita Interagro also comes from a very important stallion, from a trainer’s point of view, through her dam’s bloodline, Faraó (JHC). We have seen offspring from Faraó that demonstrate a great ability for piaffe and passage. Carmelita Interagro has all of the right qualities to have a very bright future in competition and is a huge asset to a breeding program. Because this mare is sure to be a top performer, her owner might contemplate an embryo transplant option to maintain her show career while utilizing her superb pedigree as a business.
