Coudelaria Coimbra
The Coimbras are Veiga’s
cousins who, more than a century ago, started their Coudelaria Coimbra with
mares from the Marquis of Castelo Melhor. Since their very beginning the
Coimbras have only used Veiga horses and mares and therefore are considered as a
Veiga lineage. Coudelaria Coimbra is also located in Golegã. The founder, João
d’Assunção Coimbra was succeeded by his son Manuel d’Assunção Coimbra who passed
the Coudelaria to the present principal Manuel Assunção Coimbra. Manuel Coimbra
is, next to his cousin Manuel Veiga, the most prestigious Veiga breeder in
Portugal. Coimbra horses have been exported to all countries where the Lusitano
is bred. |
