Sociedade das Silveiras

Sociedade das Silveiras was founded in 1981 by Manuel Braga at Samora Correia, a village by the Tagus river, not far from Golegã. The breeding herd was initially formed by mares from Veiga, Coimbra and Meneses origins and grew up always giving priority to animals from those breeders. Sociedade das Silveiras is one of the greatest show-wining breeders in Portugal, where the horses of their brand have consistently obtained the most prestigious championships. Silveiras’ stallions have been very successful at the bullfighting arena. Sociedade das Silveiras is one of the largest exporters of Lusitanos from Portugal to the rest of Europa and to Brazil.
