Interagro Team

US Representative
Peter Van Borst
He has been closely involved with the evolution of the Interagro breeding program in Brazil for many years.  He brings his considerable experience working with horses in many different disciplines to his involvement with Interagro Lusitanos.

Peter believes the Interagro stud in Brazil to be a unique equestrian resource.  Recently Peter moved to Aiken, South Carolina an historic equestrian southern town with a growing influx of horse people from across the United States.  “A major part of my decision to move to Aiken was to meet the growing demand for people who want to continue the training of their Lusitanos in the same philosophy as Interagro,” said Peter.  “Interagro Lusitanos, whose founder and breeder is Paulo Gavião Gonzaga, has a deserved reputation as one of the premier breeders of the Lusitano and it is built on knowledge, a passion for the breed and a respect for its heritage and well-preserved bloodlines.”

His son Matheus, started riding at our kids riding school last year and during the summer vacations he rides everyday with his father and the team.

His uncles also work at Interagro, Jair is responsible for handling and carrying the mares and foals and Antonio is our master carriage driver.

Renato started working with our vet as assistant,  taking care of horses manegement.

He knows very well each of our mares and babies and works directly with Dr Alex during the breeding season, very good in handling stallions, always patient what makes him an excellent groom.

Each horse selected for The Collection was under his cares until they start working under saddle.

As Renato knows each and every Collection horse, his physical constitution, his ability dealing with the horses, his presence in the planes with the horses during transportation  is very important.
