Breeding & pedigree
information Calígula Interagro is another Quínio son with a superb
pedigree and potential for reproduction. To give a brief idea of what a
jewel this young stallion is, we recommend reading the text about the
Firme (SA)/Nilo (MV)/Novilheiro (MV) modern lineage in our webpage or in
our book “The Lusitano Lineages”. Calígula’s dam, Barqueira (RC), Gold
Medal in Lisbon, was one of the exceptional mares bred by Arsênio Raposo
Cordeiro and later sold to Interagro by this famous Portuguese breeder.
The whole rationale behind Barqueira (RC) and other (RC) mares was to
recuperate, on a consanguineous basis, the extremely desirable genealogy
of Toleirona (MV) and Guerrita (MV), the latter being the dam of
Novilheiro (MV) and Opus II (MV). Interagro is persevering in this work
and has bred a group of these particularly rare animals, From Barqueira
(RC), we bred: Trinco and Agamemnon Interagro, both sold at the Lusitano
Collection (2006 and 2010, respectively); Zangado Interagro is presently
serving in the farm at Itapira. This is a unique chance to acquire a
very promising young stallion.

Trainer’s Opinion
by Heather Bender This young stallion is really beautiful. His face, mane/forelock,
presence, and expression are amazing. Calígula Interagro is a sensitive
horse, most suitable for a quiet rider. Even with age, Calígula
Interagro will always be a forward horse, a quality that a confident
rider will value. He is clearly intelligent and willing, and responds
best when he is lunged correctly in a round frame to supple his back
before he is ridden to develop his gaits and thoroughness. If he is
ridden in a fashion that makes him tense, you will not see his full
potential as a dressage competition horse for the future. He is ideal
for someone who rides quietly and does not want to have to push their
horse along. Calígula Interagro is appropriate for an intermediate to
advanced rider.
